In an effort to push Windows 10, Microsoft will be ending support for older Windows versions on new processors. This implies that users will not be able to run Windows 8 or
Microsoft also states that the Skylake devices on the supported list will also be supported with Windows 7 and 8.1. This program will last till until July 17, 2017. After this given date, corporate users will need to upgrade to Windows 10. A report by Engadget points out that this new policy will the company create a ‘deep integration’ between Windows 10 and the new hardware. In addition, this move will help the company tackle one of it’s biggest problems which is, getting companies to update Windows.
