Google has now been
awarded a patent which enables a Glass-like head-mounted display to
automatically take pictures when it recognises a consumer’s fingers. The
device is capable of making any additional cropping, white balance and
exposure adjustments as well.
According to a report by Engadget,
if a user made a circular “O” shape with one hand, they can end up with a
round picture. The same technique goes for using two hands to frame a
rectangular portrait. The device’s camera will look out for fingers to
screen up in its view, and as in when it senses them, it will capture the
photo. The report pointed out that there is no assurance that the
tech will be used in a new version of Glass or any other device.
In the past, Google had filed a patent to create a system by which Google Glass can recommend dance
moves to those who wear the high tech device. “The content identification
module may provide information associated with a content of the media sample,
such as identification of the song and the dance, to the wearable computing
system,” the patent reads.
That means Google Glass
will have an ability to determine what particular song is playing in the
background before suggesting dance moves from a possible library of moves
stored in its database, ‘Tech Times’ reported. The device may also show
the user a video of other people dancing to the same song in order to help the
user understand what moves they should be doing.
