We all saw it coming, didn’t we? All that iPhone 6
anticipation has ultimately landed Apple some record sales numbers. Reportedly,
Apple has claimed that it sold a baffling 10 million units of the new iPhone 6
and that too, within three days from launch. The iPhone 6 (both variants)
fetched more than 4 million pre-orders on September 12. The figure rapidly
escalated through the weekend post launch and analysts now estimate total sales
number to total around 10 million.
The iPhone 5 launch saw 2
million pre-orders upon launch last year and the iPhone 6 numbers are just
double of that. And this figure is just from those 10 countries where the
iPhone 6 has been launched so far. Had Apple retailed the handset in India and
China simultaneously, the sales numbers would have been even more overwhelming.
While India launch of the iPhone 6 has been pushed to November, China is facing
regulatory issues and the launch date still remains a mystery.
As far as the iPhone 6 sale in India is concerned, Apple would definitely not be disappointed. Apple
enjoys a massive fan following in India (especially iPhones) and we are sure
that epic pre-order numbers will come in as soon as the pre-order opens up. The
grey market sales of the iPhone 6 for Rs 80,000-Rs 1,00,00 has already made it
to the news.
