With a view to bring a
seamless experience across all its products, Microsoft has announced how
Windows 10 will be a part of Xbox One and vice versa. The built-in Xbox app is
what will help bring this world of gaming together. It’s a unified view of the
games, your friends, and gaming activities. Phil Spencer showcased the app and
said gaming on Windows 10 will be “more social and interactive.”
Here’s a quick look at
the highlights of the new Microsoft gaming world
Xbox app: Microsoft has officially pulled the wraps off its Xbox app for
Windows 10. The XBox app for Windows 10 lets you access messages, view
notifications, track achievements and also view Game DVR clips. “Whether you
only game on the PC, the console or both, the Xbox app brings together the most
important aspects of your gaming life,” it explains in theofficial blog.
Game DVR: Game DVR is one of the most popular features on XBox One. It
gives simple access to recording, editing, and sharing a player’s most epic
gaming moments. This feature now comes to Windows 10, and is accessible by
simply pressing Windows+G. It will now allow you to record, edit, and share
game clips with all your social network, whether on XBox Live or Steam.
XBox Live: XBox Live has been seamlessly integrated into Windows 10.
Develpers will be given access to XBox Live API to build powerful gaming
scenarios across devices. “Xbox Live is social, interactive, and seamlessly
integrated directly into Windows 10, bringing gamers the experiences they love
across devices, like multiplayer gaming on Windows 10 against players on an Xbox
One, and messaging and chat with friends,” Microsoft explains in the blog.
Game streaming: Games on Xbox One can be streamed through your home network to
your Windows 10 PC or tablet, anywhere in your house. Xbox One gamers will also
be able to many of their favourite console games on their PC. And many Xbox One
accessories will work interchangeably on the console and PC.
Fable Legends: Microsoft is also
bringing Fable Legends to Windows 10 PCs, day-and-date along with the Xbox One
version in 2015. This means Fable fans running Windows 10 will can play
against their fellow gamers on Xbox One. “Fable Legends is just the first of
the major game franchises from Microsoft Studios coming to Windows 10 and we
will have more to share in the coming months,” says the blog.
Microsoft has also
enhanced their graphics technology to support DirectX 12 and games developed
for DirectX 12 will see improvements in speed, efficiency and graphics
capability.
