Samsung could release a
smartwatch at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. Unlike the
previous editions, the new device will sport a round-face design and will
charge wirelessly.
According to a report by Sam Mobile, all of Samsung’s smartwatches have been guilty of the
non-intuitive way of charging, but it seems the company’s upcoming smartwatch,
codenamed Orbis will finally make things easier by supporting wireless
charging.
This will be the
company’s first round-face smartwatch. We have previously seen the similar
pattern being followed by Motorola with the Moto 360 and LG with
the G Watch R smartwatches adopt circular screens. There is no
information provided as to how the smartwatch will charge.
Another report by Sam Mobile also shared as to how
Samsung’s smartwatch will feature both a crown-shaped power button and a
rotating bezel ring on top. The company will be providing an SDK for
developers so they can build more features around the ring, so even if the
company does not put in a lot of features itself, third-party developers will
likely find a way to take advantage of the ring in their apps.
