Spice will be the first to release Android Lollipop’s latest version 5.1 in India



Spice Mobiles announced the official release of the latest version of Android Lollipop 5.1 for its Dream Uno Android One handsets in India on March 2. With this announcement, Spice becomes the first company in India to roll out the latest version of Android Lollipop for its customers.
The upgrade will be made available to Spice Dream Uno users over the next few days. The latest update will offer improved smartphone experience, user interface and general improvements in system stability.

Commenting on the update, Mr. Prashant Bindal, CEO, Spice Mobility Ltd, said that, “In line with our brand promise “Always the latest”, we are delighted to be the first player to release the Android Lollipop 5.1 update, exclusively for our Spice Dream Uno users in India.”
He also added that, “Android Lollipop 5.1 is the latest version of Lollipop and consists of lots of improvements over Lollipop 5.0, such as an improved battery and RAM management and smarter notifications, thereby offering our customers an enhanced user experience. In the future as well, we look forward to be the first to offer our consumers the latest technology with our devices.”
Spice’s Dream Uno sports a 4.5-inch screen with FWVGA (854 x 480 Pixels) IPS LCD display. The phone houses a MediaTek SoC with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and Mali 400 GPU paired with 1GB of RAM.  The rear camera is a 5MP shooter complete with an LED flash unit and it has the ability to shoot full HD videos. The front camera is a 2MP one. It will come with 4GB internal storage with the option of adding a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. The phone is powered by a 1,700mAh Li-ion battery.
