HTC One A9 now official: All-metal design, Android Marshmallow, Snapdragon 617 and more!

In line with the previous rumours around HTC working on an iPhone rip-off that is set to launch on October 20, the all new HTC One A9 is now official. The smartphone is all set to go on sale early November across the globe.

The highlight of the device is its all-metal unibody and 2.55D glass design. It’s a new design crafted from scratch, claims HTC. Along with the usual grey, it also comes dipped in Gold, Silver and Garnet Red.
The HTC One A9 sports a 5-inch AMOLED 1080p display. The internals include a Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor with four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5GHz and another four A53 at 1.2GHz, coupled with 2GB or 3GB of RAM.
7.2mm thick, the HTC One A9 weighs 143 grams and features a Home Key that doubles as an always-on fingerprint scanner. It packs in a 13MP rear snapper with optical image stabilisation and 1080p video recording along with a 4MP UltraPixel front-facing camera. It also includes 16GB or 32GB of on-board storage, expandable via a microSD slot.
The smartphone runs the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow version and comes equipped with a 2,150 mAh battery with support for Quick Charge. The unlocked version of the HTC One A9 is priced at $399 that translates to approximately Rs 26,000. Looks like, HTC has tried to offer a premium look and feel to its new ‘iPhone-inspired’ device in order to revive its One lineup.
