Windows 10: Runs on 110 million devices, to roll out for phones in December

Microsoft’s new flagship devices running Windows 10 will be out for purchase only next month. They will be the only devices running the latest mobile OS for sometime. However, answering comments on its Facebook page, Microsoft has revealed that Windows 10 will be making its way to other devices in December.

“It is our ambition, majority of Lumia smartphones should get the new update,” the company said replying to one of the comments. However, TheVerge points out that “8GB of internal memory will be required, so owners of devices like the Lumia 530 are going to be out of luck. Only phones running Lumia Denim will be able to upgrade”. Moreover, all devices may not be able to access all Windows 10 features.
That’s about Windows 10 for mobile devices, but Windows 10 for PC that was released earlier this year has already made it to 110 million devices.

Windows 10 is made available as a free upgrade to Windows 7 and 8 users. Yesterday at the event, Microsoft’s Terry Myerson announced that Windows 10 devices have now increased to a whopping 110 million. That’s a huge number considering Windows 10 has been out for just over 2 months now.
At the event, the company also announced new Lumia 950 and 950 XL, Surface Book,Surface Pro 4, among other devices. Take a look at the Microsoft event as it happenedand how the new Lumia 950 and 950 XL stack against its competitors.
