Mozilla launches new privacy features in Firefox: Here’s how you can use them

Mozilla has beefed up the privacy features in its latest version of Firefox on its 10th anniversary. The latest version now lets you delete your recent browsing history and protect your search information.
Firefox announced the Forget button and DuckDuckGo search support for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android. Mozilla claims that the Forget button lets you delete your recent browsing activity, while DuckDuckGo gives you search results without tracking who you are or what you search for. It’s a great move, as you don’t need to be a technical genius to be able to use these features and protect your identity while you are online.
While Firefox already had the option of clearing your search history, Forget lets you delete the history only from a set time frame. This should come to your rescue if you want to delete the information of a recent online transaction or a visited a website you are not proud of.
Here’s how to add Forget to your Firefox browser:
1. On the menu (indicated by three horizontal bars on the top right), select Customize.
2. Drag and drop the Forget button that looks like an ‘undo’ symbol.
3. Done! Now you can quickly delete your browsing history in the last five minutes, two hours or 24 hours.
If you hate to see ads that are based on what you search online, DuckDuckGo is your new best friend. In the latest version of Firefox, Mozilla has added the ability to choose DuckDuckGo as your default search tool. DuckDuckGo, which was earlier available as an add-on, now comes as one of your search options in the search bar. Switching to DuckDuckGo is as simple as ever – all you need to do is click on the arrow on the search bar, select DuckDuckGo and you can search away, without worrying about who is tracking your online activity.
