The $1,024 development tablet from Google, known as Project
Tango, is now showing up on the Play store, but even if you wanted one, you
still can’t get one just yet. Earlier this year, at the Google I/O developer
conference, the tech giant had promised that the 3D-sensing, camera filed
Project Tango tablet, would arrive later in 2014, and with this listing in the
Google Play store, it appears to confirm that Google is getting things geared
up for sale.
At this current time, both the black and the white and Project
Tango tablets are listed, with Google saying that the “device is not for sale
at this time.” So I guess they are just teasing us at this time.
Google describes Project Tango as:
This 7″ tablet includes a powerful NVIDIA Tegra K1
processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, integrated depth sensing,
motion tracking camera, WiFi and NFC. As Google is selling Tango as
a developer kit, the company is offering no warranties nor refunds for orders,
so think carefully when you decide to part ways with $1,024 when Google gives
you that opportunity in the future: The Project Tango Development Kit is being
sold as is, and is therefore excluded from any warranties. There are no returns
or refunds permitted with your order.
