Last month, we jotted down some cool futuristic phone
concepts that we wished could be real. Now, we’ve come across one such concept
in the form of the Cicret wrist band integrated with a pico projector.
Interestingly, the device turns into a smartphone every time you twist your
wrist.
Each time you twist your wrist, the sleek wristband projects an Android
tablet interface onto your arm. It comes with a row of eight proximity
sensors pointing towards the user’s forearm.
In the above video, the team lists the possibilities of the bracelet
and explains that when you put your finger on the interface, you stop one
of the 8 long range proximity sensor. The sensor then sends the information
back to the processor which is in your Cicret Bracelet.
The Cicret will be available with 16GB and 32GB storage options, and in ten
colours. Going by the video, the band is waterproof and can be used as a
standalone device or along with the smartphone.
It could operate as a standalone device and can also be paired with your
existing smartphone. This means, users can perform all functions using a large
screen display without the need to pull out their phones.
The Cicret Bracelet comes with an accelerometer and a vibration module, and
also has an LED for notifications. Connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth
and a micro USB port.
The device is likely to cost USD 400 and could reach market within
a year and a half. However, the Cicret team is still looking for funding and
also has donations page that could help it
develop the phone and build the device.
