Line
has announced reaching a 'definitive agreement' to acquire MixRadio, a free
personal music streaming service, from Microsoft.

acclaimed service that offers the world’s most personal and truly
mobile-optimized music streaming service to millions of listeners across 31
countries,” says the company in a release
MixRadio
will continue to collaborate with Microsoft to offer customised music
experience as a third party service on Lumia smartphones. MixRadio is already
being rolled out across new devices and platforms including home audio and
wearables.

The
latest development comes shortly after Line announced a new mobile payment
service called Line Pay. The service is
available as a new feature in 4.8 version update.
“By
capitalizing on the global user base and LINE’s platform, which is used in
variety scenes throughout users’ daily lives, the release of LINE Pay will
provide a mean through which users can make secure and convenient payments
anytime, anywhere, straight through their smartphone,” Line said in a release.
