Modi, Mukesk Ambani and Sunny Leone most searched according to Yahoo's Year in
Review India 2014.
Yahoo has released its seventh edition of Year in
Review India 2014 which includes the top political leaders, celebrities and the
most influential personalities of the year. Narendra Modi, Mukesh Ambani,
Tim Cook and Sunny Leone were the most searched personalities for the year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been declared as
the most searched and most talked about politician in India for 2014. Yahoo
explains "Because he proved the skeptics wrong and fashioned the grandest
victory for the BJP in India’s history, thus changing the political landscape
forever.” Narendra Modi is followed by his aides Arun Jaitley (Finance and
I&B Minister), BJP President Amit Shah and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
Head of Reliance Group Mukesh Ambani, tops the
list as the most influential Indian for 2014. He is followed by Chairman of
Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry and Gautam Adani, founder of Adani Group.
Apple CEO Tim Cook is this year's top finance
newsmakers, along with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Infosys CEO and MD Vishal Sikka.
Ecommerce giant Flipkart's Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal as well as Snapdeal's
Rohit Bansal are also in the list.
In the '10 Most Wanted Tech Gadgets’ list, Yahoo
users searched for Apple iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4,
Microsoft XBox One, Amazon Kindle Fire and Sony PlayStation 4.
Sachin Tendulkar was the most searched
cricketers, followed by Phil Hughes, MS Dhoni and N Srinivasan. The most
most-searched celebrity for the third year in a row was Sunny Leone, along with
Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt and John Abraham.
